Type Locality and Naming
The type section is at Guqin in Goyü district, Zayü County, Xizang. The Guqin Fm was named by Yin Jixiang et al. in 1973, and was published by Chen Ting'en (1984) who mistook the Guqin Fm for the Gujin Fm.
Synonym: (古琴组)
Lithology and Thickness
The formation is composed of grayish yellow thin-bedded siltstone, fine-grained sandstone, phyllite, slate and sericite schist; and light gray dolomitic limestone (upper part). In the type area, the Guqin Fm recorded an incomplete thickness of 150 m.
